Certainly, when they talk to us about a lion , the power, dominance and authority of the one who is known with great honor as the king of the jungle comes to mind. However, as in all species, sometimes nature surprises us and gives us the greatest life lessons . Like what happened to 3 wild lions and a 12-year-old girl in Ethiopia.
The little girl was walking home when suddenly, seven older men intercepted her on her way and kidnapped her for the worst of purposes.
The girl was beaten and had to undergo the worst suffering in the hands of her captors, whose objective was none other than to force her to marry one of them against her will.
The incident took place 560 kilometers from Addis Ababa, in the provincial capital of Bita Genet.
She had disappeared for a week, while her kidnappers tortured her in the worst way. But all was not lost for the little girl: 3 roaring lions were in the vicinity and what even wildlife experts still cannot explain happened.
Apparently, the little girl began to scream and the sobs were confused by the lions as if they were coming from a cub. Quickly, the animal instinct made them run and her surprise was such when they found the little girl, that instead of attacking they defended and guarded her, thus driving away the 7 savages who were taking advantage of the minor.
A pride of 3 lions was found guarding the girl before police arrived on June 9 outside Bita Genet, according to reports.
The kidnappers had moved the little girl, but when they met the lions they fled like the vile and cowardly they are.
Once the animals saw that the authorities arrived to help her, they quietly left without making any noise or fuss. Is awesome!
Wondimu Wedajo, the spokesman for the local Police Department, said the animals had been protecting the girl for around 12 hours before officers arrived.
“They were on guard until we found her and then they left her as a gift and went back into the forest,” Wondimu said.
“If the lions hadn’t come to rescue her, then it could have been much worse. Often these young women are severely assaulted to force them to accept marriage.
“Everyone thinks this is some kind of miracle, because normally lions would attack people ,” Wondimu concluded.
Tilahun Kassa, a local government official, corroborated Wondimu’s account, saying that one of the men had wanted to marry the girl against her wishes.
The girl was horrified after her kidnapping and had to be treated for the bumps and bruises she was left with, but she is recovering favorably.
Four of the hijackers were later captured, but the others remain free.
A case that shows us the greatness and nobility of animals, and paradoxically reveals the human “bestiality”. Enough already! Share to raise awareness.
