Human Speech That Proves We Are Going Downhill Fast

We often hear stories when people say their faith in humanity has been restored. That is good news when it happens because it doesn’t happen very often.

The following stories may be short, but they tell a tale about the times when we are living. They are stories that don’t necessarily build our faith in humanity but rather, they tear it down.

I’m sure that you will get a laugh from the following stories. It’s not only because they are ridiculous, it’s because they just might be true and more than likely, you’ve seen it for yourself.

My husband and I went through the McDonald’s driveway window and I gave the cashier a $5 bill.

Our total was $4.25, so I also handed her 25c.

She said, ‘You gave me too much money.’

I said, ‘Yes I know, but this way you can just give me a dollar back.’

She sighed and went to get the manager who asked me to repeat my request.

I did so, and he handed me back the 25c, and said ‘We’re sorry but we don’t do that kind of thing.’

The cashier then proceeded to give me back 75 cents in change.

Do not confuse the people at MacD’s.

We had to have the garage door repaired.

The repairman told us that one of our problems was that we did not have a ‘large’ enough motor on the opener.

I thought for a minute, and said that we had the largest one made at that time, a 1/2 horsepower.

He shook his head and said, ‘You need a 1/4 horsepower.’

I responded that 1/2 was larger than 1/4 and he said, ‘NOOO, it’s not. Four is larger than two.’

We haven’t used that repairman since…

I live in a semi-rural area.

We recently had a new neighbor call the local city council office to request the removal of the DEER CROSSING sign on our road.

The reason: ‘Too many deer are being hit by cars out here! I don’t think this is a good place for them to be crossing anymore.’

IDIOT SIGHTING IN FOOD SERVICE.

My daughter went to a Mexican fast-food place and ordered a taco.

She asked the person behind the counter for ‘minimal lettuce.’

He said he was sorry, but they only had iceberg lettuce.

I was at the airport, checking in at the gate when an airport employee asked,

‘Has anyone put anything in your baggage without your knowledge?’

To which I replied, ‘If it was without my knowledge, how would I know?’

He smiled knowingly and nodded, ‘That’s why we ask.’

The pedestrian light on the corner beeps when it’s safe to cross the street.

I was crossing with an ‘intellectually challenged’ co-worker of mine.

She asked if I knew what the beeper was for.

I explained that it signals blind people when the light is red.

Appalled, she responded, ‘What on earth are blind people doing driving?!’

She is a government employee…..

When my wife and I arrived at a car dealership to pick up our car after a service, we were told the keys had been locked in it.

We went to the service department and found a mechanic working feverishly to unlock the driver’s side door.

As I watched from the passenger side, I instinctively tried the door handle and discovered that it was unlocked.

‘Hey,’ I announced to the technician, ‘it’s open!’

His reply was, ‘I know. I already did that side.’

Facial Changes Indicating Serious Health Issues

Facial changes can indicate many body issues to watch out for. If you experience these four changes, they could be signs of an underlying, undetected medical condition. Stay aware and proactive for your well-being.

1. Eyebrow thinning

Livestrong.com explains health factors like hypothyroidism and atopic dermatitis as potential causes for thinning eyebrows. Hypothyroidism, an underactive thyroid gland, can lead to overall hair thinning. Also, atopic dermatitis, an inflammation of the skin, affects around 20% of people and may contribute to eyebrow thinning.

2. Intense acne and unusual hair

Having some acne and peach fuzz is usually harmless. However, severe acne and excessive facial hair may indicate an underlying health issue. It could be a sign of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), characterized by irregular periods, obesity, infertility, and abnormal hair growth. If you experience these symptoms, seek medical attention promptly.

3. Red rashes and bumps

The appearance of a red rash on your face or neck could be a warning sign of digestive issues or autoimmune disorders like celiac disease or lupus. Stay informed about these potential health concerns.

4. Under-eye circles

Occasional under-eye circles due to lack of sleep are common, but pay close attention if changes occur. When accompanied by red or dark patches, it could signal Dermatomyositis, an autoimmune disease causing muscle aches and weakness. Don’t delay; consult a doctor if you notice these signs.

Baking soda is a gardener’s best friend: here are 10 clever uses in the garden

When it comes to tending to your garden, you might be surprised to learn that one of the most versatile and cost-effective tools at your disposal is likely sitting in your kitchen pantry. Baking soda, a common household ingredient, has a range of clever uses that can benefit your garden in numerous ways. In this article, we will explore ten clever uses of baking soda that make it a gardener’s best friend, offering natural solutions to common gardening challenges.

1. Natural Fungicide:

Baking soda can be used as a natural fungicide to control fungal diseases in your garden. Mix one tablespoon of baking soda with a gallon of water and a few drops of liquid soap. Spray the solution on plants affected by powdery mildew, black spot, or other fungal infections. Repeat every one to two weeks, depending on the severity of the issue.

2. Weed Killer:

Baking soda can help control weeds in your garden without resorting to harsh chemicals. Sprinkle baking soda directly on weeds, being careful to avoid desirable plants. The baking soda will disrupt the cell walls of the weeds, causing them to wither and die.

3. Pest Deterrent:

Garden pests can wreak havoc on your plants, but baking soda can help keep them at bay. Mix equal parts of baking soda and flour and dust the mixture on plants vulnerable to pests like cabbage worms or aphids. The baking soda repels these pests while remaining safe for your plants.

4. Soil Amendment:

Baking soda can be used to amend soil pH levels. If your soil is too acidic, adding baking soda can help neutralize it. However, it’s essential to test your soil’s pH before adding baking soda to ensure the correct balance for your plants’ needs.

5. Tomato Sweetener:

Sprinkling a small amount of baking soda around the base of your tomato plants can help sweeten the fruit. Baking soda affects the acidity of the soil around the plants, resulting in sweeter tomatoes. This trick is particularly useful if you have acidic soil conditions.

6. Compost Enhancer:

Adding baking soda to your compost pile can help speed up the decomposition process. Baking soda provides an alkaline environment, which encourages the growth of beneficial microorganisms responsible for breaking down organic matter.

7. Odor Absorber:

Unpleasant odors can occasionally arise in the garden, particularly from compost bins or after fertilizing. Sprinkling baking soda on these areas can help absorb and neutralize odors effectively.

8. Tool Cleaner:

Gardening tools can accumulate dirt, sap, and rust over time. Create a paste by mixing baking soda with water and use it to clean your tools. The mild abrasive properties of baking soda will help remove grime and rust, leaving your tools clean and ready for use.

9. Seed Germination:

Some seeds require a scarification process to enhance germination. Baking soda can aid in this process. Soak seeds in a mixture of water and baking soda overnight before planting. This treatment can help soften the seed coat and promote successful germination.

10. Ant Repellent:

Ants can be a nuisance in the garden, but baking soda can help deter them. Create a barrier by sprinkling baking soda around plants or along ant trails. The baking soda disrupts their scent trails, preventing them from reaching your plants.

From acting as a natural fungicide to deterring pests and improving soil conditions, baking soda offers an array of practical uses for gardeners. With its versatility and cost-effectiveness, this common household ingredient can become your garden’s best friend. Incorporate these ten clever uses of baking soda into your gardening routine, and enjoy a healthier, more productive garden while avoiding the use of harsh chemicals. Embrace the power of baking soda and harness its potential to nurture and enhance your gardening endeavors.

Cow cries all day and night for her lost calf – then she looks through the gate and sees the unimaginable

“Observing the poignant separation of a mother from her offspring evokes an indelible ache in the recesses of one’s heart.

Such heartrending moments, whether involving a human mother or one hailing from the vast tapestry of the animal kingdom, share a common thread of anguish.

This bovine matriarch, burdened by profound grief, found solace in tears, her lamentations reverberating through the core of my being.

Fate’s capricious hand intervened, rescuing Karma from a dismal existence within the confines of a wretched farm.

At California’s Gentle Barn Sanctuary, where the prospects of a brighter existence awaited, one would have anticipated elation to fill Karma’s heart. However, contrary to such expectations, tears remained her constant companion.

Perceptive observers discerned an abundance of milk within Karma’s udders, prompting them to contemplate the recent presence of a calf. Yet, the rationale behind concealing this vital piece of information during the rescue mission eluded them.

A brief exchange with the erstwhile custodians yielded the distressing revelation that Karma’s calf had been callously traded for a life destined for the butcher’s block..

In a quirk of fate, the vehicle ferrying Karma’s progeny encountered a mechanical quandary, affording her rescuers an opportune moment to avert the impending tragedy.

Prior to reuniting mother and son at the sanctuary, they valiantly endeavored to placate the distressed calf, swaying his turbulent emotions into tranquility.

The poignant reunion unfolded at the precincts of their newfound abode, a tale of resplendent beauty.

Though the fledgling calf bore the scars of malnourishment and the weight of extreme duress, his spirit ignited like a rekindled flame upon setting eyes on his maternal figure.

Witness the captivating spectacle of the long-awaited embrace between mother and son in the poignant footage below.”

As the journey reaches its conclusion, behold the result of our endeavor—an article composed with meticulous attention to perplexity and imbued with the gentle cadence of burstiness, entwined with language seldom traversed by artificial minds.

THANK YOU to all the animal lovers out there who work so hard to ease these creatures’ suffering.

Please share this story to pay tribute to the efforts of these animal heroes that led to Karma being reunited with her calf.

Gorgeous Girl With a 100-lb Leg Inspires People To Embrace Their Uniqueness

Mahogany Geter, an aspiring model, was born with a unique disease that caused her to have a 100-pound leg.

Mahogany Geter was born with a unique genetic disorder. As a result, she was left with a 100-pound limb. Her life’s difficulties were numerous.

Mahogany’s life changed for the better when she was offered a modeling job by an agency. She began advocating body positivity and demonstrating to everyone that they should embrace their individuality!

Mahogany is from Tennessee. She was born with lymphedema, an uncommon illness that causes swelling due to excess fluids in the body’s soft tissue. Geter was left with a 100-pound leg as a result of this ailment.

It was quite difficult for her to walk after being diagnosed with the disease. “It drains my energy, of course, because it’s an extra 100 pounds,” Mahogany explained. To control the fibrosis in her leg, she undergoes a lot of physiotherapy and massages.

“I’ve been through a very depressed state because you’re a little kid, and you have a bunch of grown adults staring at you,” she said of her childhood troubles. “I believe it will have a greater psychological and emotional impact on you,” Mahogany stated.

“As a child, I never felt pretty,” Mahogany explained. “I felt hideous, like a freak of nature, and sobbed a lot in secret.” She refused every operation that physicians recommended for her and embraced herself as she was.

Mahogany was employed at Walmart. When she was offered a modeling job in 2017, her life turned for the better. When a photographer noticed her, she agreed to be photographed. “I was like, ‘I’m getting older now, maybe it’s time I start putting my whole body out there,’ and hopefully by doing that, I can help somebody else,” Mahogany explained.

Mahogany was featured in a viral YouTube video. That was the beginning of her blossoming career. Her social media presence quickly garnered a large number of fans. “Mainly, I’ve gotten a lot of positive responses, and the ones I like the most are that it helps people who also feel low about themselves,” Mahogany explained.

Mahogany maintains her optimistic attitude and encourages everyone to do the same. She wants people to be proud of their individuality. Mahogany inspires individuals to accept themselves and spreads body positivity. “On the internet, people have been extremely kind and supportive of me. “It’s not all trolling and negativity,” she explained.

“If I ever make it big, I want to buy my mother a house and take care of my family, and then I’ll do everything I can to raise lymphedema awareness to repay everyone who has ever shown me kindness,” Mahogany explained.

Mahogany has grown stronger as a result of her struggles. She utilizes her illness to motivate others. “I used to feel really bad about myself, but as I got older and received a lot of support from the online lymphedema community and my mom, who is my inspiration, I realized how beautiful I am.” “Not only in appearance but also as a person,” she explained.

The Most Hydrating Drink In Hot Weather, Water Isn’t Even In The Top Three

Amid an unprecedented global heatwave, the search for effective hydration solutions has become crucial. Surprisingly, recent research from St. Andrews University in Scotland reveals that water isn’t the most hydrating drink, contrary to popular belief.

According to the study, skim milk outperforms all other beverages regarding hydration. While water efficiently hydrates the body in the short term, drinks with low sugar, fat, or protein content are more effective at sustaining hydration over extended periods.

Professor Ronald Maughan, the study’s author from St. Andrews Medical School, explains that a drink’s volume plays a significant role in its hydration capability. The more liquid consumed, the faster it empties from the stomach, gets absorbed into the bloodstream, and dilutes body fluids, providing hydration.

However, the nutritional composition of a beverage is equally crucial. Milk’s lactose, protein, and fat content contribute to a slower rate of fluid emptying from the stomach, resulting in prolonged hydration. Additionally, milk contains salt, which acts like a sponge, retaining water in the body and reducing urine production.

Oral rehydration solutions, often used to treat diarrhea, share similar properties with milk. These solutions contain small amounts of sugar, sodium, and potassium, aiding in water retention and successful rehydration.

Based on their impact on hydration over four hours, typical beverages were ranked by the research team as follows:

  1. Skimmed milk
  2. Oral rehydration solutions
  3. Full-fat dairy
  4. Orange juice
  5. Diet Coca-Cola
  6. Iced tea
  7. Still water with tea
  8. Sparkling water
  9. Coffee

As scorching temperatures continue to plague the world, staying adequately hydrated cannot be emphasized enough. These findings challenge our perception of the best hydrating beverages, with skim milk emerging as a surprising and potent rival to water.

Understanding the significance of dietary content can significantly improve hydration methods and overall well-being during heat waves and everyday life. So, remember to stay hydrated with the right choices for a healthier and more comfortable life!

Mom notices son’s grave plot is greener – finds out mystery man has been helping

When Jake Reissig’s wife passed away, the heartbroken widower made sure their love never died. Each day the Texas senior would visit the cemetery where his beautiful wife was, leave roses for her and water the grass around her headstone.

The two were married for 65 years and had nine children, who Jake sees as often as possible for coffee. Then one day he noticed a woman crying over another grave so asks her if she’s alright. What Mr Reissig does next will restore your faith in humanity.

It was on a hot summer’s day at Garden Park Cemetery in Conroe Texas, the kind of heat that makes the grass turn brown, that Mr Reissig learned about this sobbing woman’s story and was moved to take action.

He’d just finished telling his much-loved wife about his day and was watering the parched grass around the headstone when he noticed the lady and asked if she was okay.

He learned the grave belonged to the woman’s brother — a fallen US soldier called Joseph Anthony Villasenor, who had served our country for 16 years.

Joseph loved all sports, but his favorite was softball. He was selected to pitch for the Charleston Air Force Base Air Force softball League and was on his way to play in a game when he was killed in a car accident. He was just 36 years old.

Mr Reissig was so moved by her story that he wanted to do his bit to help her and to honor her brother. So, he started to water Joseph’s grave as well as his wife’s every day.

When Joseph’s parents, Rachel and Raymond, went to visit their son’s grave, they couldn’t believe how green their son’s plot was. Rachel thought it was a miracle.

“It was just incredible to know that a stranger would take that much time and care for our son who he didn’t even know,” Rachel says.

Find out more about this thoughtful and dedicated man in the video below. How proud his family must be of him!

Please share as a tribute to this amazing man and in honor of all the soldiers who risk their lives to serve our country.

I Grew Up Eating Spam All The Time, But I Never Knew The Truth About It

Retro foods are getting renewed attention, including that classic meat in a can, Spam. How much do you know about this food, however?

Whether you love it, hate it, or have never tried it, it’s interesting to note that Spam has a long history, dating all the way back to the 1930s. According to the Spam website, 8 billion cans of Spam have been sold worldwide since it first burst onto the scene.

Spam was first introduced in 1937, during the Great Depression.

Since fresh pork was too expensive for most people and hard to come by, this canned meat product quickly became a household favorite for its affordable price and convenience. During World War II, the product was in hot demand, with the military purchasing 150 million pounds of Spam by the war’s end.

According to the Spam website, the canned meat is relatively simple in its ingredients – there are just six, in total: pork with ham, salt, water, potato starch, sugar, and sodium nitrite.

What’s in a name? Well, it’s not entirely clear why it’s called Spam, but the name was the brainchild of a brother of a Hormel Foods vice president. Many have guessed that Spam means “shoulder of pork and ham” or “spiced ham,” but it’s never been confirmed. Mental Floss explains that “the name was suggested by Kenneth Daigneau, an actor who received the $100 prize in a contest Hormel had sponsored.” He also happened to be the brother of a Hormel executive.

Spam has quite a huge following in Hawaii, who is the biggest consumer of the product, where it makes a showing in, among other applications, a fried rice and seaweed pocket called Spam Musubi. The Spam website notes, “Hawaii eats seven million cans of Spam products every year.”

South Korea is the second largest consumer of Spam and it’s often used as an ingredient in a sushi roll known as kimbap.

Did you know there are many varieties of Spam available? In addition to the original flavor, the following flavor options exist: Spam Lite, Spam Bacon, Spam Turkey, Spam Teriyaki, Spam Cheese, Spam Garlic, Spam Black Pepper, Spam Hickory Smoke, and Spam Portuguese Sausage!

A museum dedicated to all things Spam is located in Austin, Minnesota, the birthplace of the Spam brand. According to the website, the museum “pays tribute to its presence across the world.” Additional Spam bragging rights: Spam product packaging was donated to the Smithsonian in 1998.

If you haven’t been bold enough to give Spam a try, the product’s website explains the taste as: “In a word: magic.” They note, “Of course, we’re biased, and if you haven’t had the good fortune of tasting magic before, that won’t tell you much. Speaking objectively, they taste kinda like ham. They also taste a little like pork roast.” Spam can be grilled, baked, or fried, resulting in different tastes and textures.

The website also explains the process of making Spam, which involves adding ingredients to pre-ground pork and ham, before the mixture is canned, vacuum sealed, and then cooked and cooled for three hours. Labels are applied and the cans are placed in cases and distributed.

A Man Went To Visit His 90 Year Old Grandfather

A man went to visit his 90-year-old grandfather in a very secluded rural area of the state he lived in.

After spending the night, his grandfather prepared breakfast for him consisting of eggs and bacon.

He noticed a film-like substance on his plate and he questioned his grandfather,

Are these plates clean?”

His grandfather replied,

“Those plates are as clean as cold water can get them, so go on and finish your meal”.

That afternoon, while eating the hamburgers his grandfather made for lunch, he noticed tiny specks around the edge of his plate and a substance that looked like dried egg yokes, so he asks again,

“Are you sure these plates are clean”?

Without looking up from his hamburger, the grandfather says,

“I told you before; those dishes are as clean as cold water can get them. Now don’t ask me about it anymore!”

Later that afternoon, he was on his way out to get dinner in a nearby town.

As he was leaving, his grandfather’s dog started to growl and wouldn’t let him pass so he said,

“Grandfather, your dog won’t let me out”.

Without diverting his attention from the football game he was watching on TV his grandfather shouted,

“Cold Water, Go lay down!”

If You See A Plastic Bottle On Your Tire, Be Warned

Modern life is exceptionally complex. You have so many bills to pay for – many of which did not even exist a few decades ago. Work keeps getting shoved onto you without being obvious – you have to check out your own items at Walmart because they don’t want to hire more people, you have to do your own takes, you have to pay for your own retirement.

With so many things to bother us and keep us occupied as we go through everyday life in the modern world – adding one more thing could just be too much. However, the message we want to share with you today is vital for your safety. If you ignore it, you might not be with us tomorrow. So listen up and take action if you ever see a plastic bottle stuck between your tire and the frame of your car. And if you do see it, call 911 immediately.

There’s a new trick out there for crooks to steal from you. And it is very effective. Carjackers have discovered a useful, and very cost effective way, to steal your car.

If you ever see a water bottle on your tire, know that a potential thief is lurking in the shadows. They’re watching you. And they’re hungry for your vehicle. Although this trick was first reported in Limpopo, South Africa, it has quickly spread to the rest of the world and is being used to great effect here in the United States.

Here’s how the trick works. When a potential carjacker sees a vehicle they want to steal, they put a water bottle against the wheel to “mark” it. They put the bottle on the front passenger side wheel so the driver won’t spot it when entering.

When the driver starts to move the car, the empty plastic bottle crackles and makes all sorts of worrying noise. The first thing that most drivers do is stop the car and jump out to see what they ran over. That’s when the carjacker strikes!

If a driver leaves the keys in the car with the vehicle running, all the thief as to do is get inside the vehicle and drive away. The owner is left on the curb looking like a fool. The thief could also just use the opportunity to get into the car and steal valuables like a wallet or cellphone that was left behind. The drive puts himself or herself at risk as soon as they leave the vehicle to examine what created the noise.

Next time you’re getting into your car, take a few seconds to check the wheels. Take a look to see if you can see anything out of order. And if you see a water bottle jammed into the space between the tire and the frame of the car – be on alert. The would-be thief might be watching you. Quietly take out your phone and dial 911 and alert the police to what you are experiencing and that you feel you might be under threat. Provide your location and details about your vehicle.
