A homeless cat is taken to a rescue center in Los Angeles and there he adopts the small cats that come to take care of them
Harrow is a sweet older cat who has had a difficult time on the streets after his owner passed away. Alley Cat Rescue in Los Angeles, USA, took him off the streets a year ago, and since then this loving homeless cat adopts kittens and starts caring for them.
The tabby cat tried on several occasions to return home, but never managed to enter and ended up living on the streets; until rescuers from Alley Cat TNR (‘Trap, neuter, return’) embraced it.
Staff Alley Cat Rescue told Love Meow :
“He had stomatitis, liver disease and broke his teeth. It was an intact male cat, never neutered.
Sweet homeless cat adopts kittens
Due to the time spent on the streets, the homeless cat has some health difficulties and scars on his body. Due to an infection, one of his ears was compromised, but despite all this, Harrow was happy and grateful.
The cat was seen by the vet and little by little it began to recover; he gained weight and recovered from a severe upper respiratory infection. His coat improved a lot, and to cheer him up, rescuers left him with two small kittens, and Harrow immediately took them in and cared for them.
Alley Cat Rescue features:
“He purred throughout the exam at the vet and talked to the clinic staff.”
He purred happily next to the kittens and they were fascinated with his foster father. A little Calico, named Stella, who was found in the streets by the rescue center, needed the warmth of a friend, and the little one snuggled up next to the old cat; he tried to lie on top of her.
Taking care of the little kittens has encouraged Harrow; they find love and refuge in him, and the old cat feels very good about helping them. A little named Noelle wouldn’t stop crying until she met Harrow.
One of the rescuers said:
«He took the kitten under his paw. Her steady, crisp purr really helped keep Noelle a happy baby. “
Little Noelle stayed at the rescue center for a long time, and Harrow never left her alone.
The team counts:
They had a very mutual love. It was great for Noelle since all the other healthy babies had been adopted, and she still had someone to play with.
Little cats are comfortable around the older cat and this really helps Harrow too.
Staff Alley Cat Rescue added:
Harrow always wants to be around kittens. Kittens are happy to have a warm, purring cat to snuggle with. They climb on it and run around its legs when it eats. ‘
During this time that he has been in the rescue center, Harrow takes care of the kittens that pass by. The staff wants to make sure to provide the older cat with joy, comfort, and lots of love for the rest of her days.
